Matt has been playing tennis for 18 years, since the age of nine at Latika Junior Tennis Club, whom he represented in numerous events and competitions, winning a number of cups and trophies.
By age 19 Matt was working full-time as a coach, dividing his hours between Woking Lawn Tennis Croquet club and Latika, where he was given the opportunity to work with many top county and national players.
At age 21 Matt was appointed Head Coach at Latika JTC and quickly developed the club’s programme to allow all players more time on court. Latika now offers at least two-three sessions a week for all players ranging from mini tennis age 4+, elite small squads, to top squad hitting and match practice. All groups and squads follow the learning through fun ethos of the club.
In 2005, Matt was awarded with Bracknell Forest's Young Coach of the Year, for his dedication in developing Latika’s club programme.
In August 2006, Matt won the Bracknell rating tournament, and is now hitting again to lower his rating to 5.1 or 4.2.
In Sept 2007, Matt took over the role of Captain to the boys U10’s County team. With aims of strengthening and developing the group of players, he ended up captaining the team to U10’s National Champions.
In 2016, Matt was awarded with Berkshire Coach of the Year.
